I do a lot of my research at MIT, and to get there I have to take the Red Line to Alewife (like ginger ale - ginger + husband counterpart, not all weef, like some people say, ugh)
Apparently today, the red line train decided it would be a good idea to run over a wire. The passengers inside, including me, who saw smoke everywhere and a huge mess of flames thought differently. I personally think it is a little bit too cold out for a barbecue.
We had to stop and they had to put it out, obviously. I don't think anyone was hurt, but wow, we all could have been sitting ducks.
Honestly, though. Scary.
If you could take any class you wanted for one semester, what would you study?
Oh jayzuz. If they had a class that offered a lot of different insights into math I would do that. Like, a class on the same things that I've always done but just different approaches on how to do them. There probably are classes like this out there. I'm sure there are.
I'll let you know if I find any. I think linear algebra will probably be interesting because I like doing research on n-dimensional vector spaces. Eh. Anything math oriented and I'm happy.
You crash your friend's car because you're driving too fast in bad weather. Everyone's okay, but the car has to go into the shop. Who pays the deductible?
I feel like this is a trick question. But isn't it obvious that I should pay? It says I was driving too fast in bad weather. I mean, bad weather is bad weather, but when it says 60 MPH Speed Limit, it means 60 under the best possible conditions, not 60 invariably.
a) This is irrelevant because I don't drive (yet)
b) This is irrelevant because I don't intend to drive too fast :)
Today especially feels like one of those days where there are going to be a lot of accidents. Lots and lots of snow.
peace out.
What is your favorite scent or smell and why?

(I'm not gonna bother to explain)
Tell us the story behind one of the text messages or voicemails you have saved in your phone.
Well I usually save Auntie's because they're so hilarious. I mean, not that I actually have the free time to go back and listen to them but I save them anyway.
I don't have text so I have none to save :)
So, Lottery number is 4826 (out of about 5200) which is actually...pretty horrendous. Considering that I actually pulled off like a 3.9 last semester, I am really surprised that my number was so low.
As far as what that number actually means, it really translates into me not having a choice of what building I live in or what roommate I end up with. Which, I think, isn't really fair...to anybody, not just me. I mean, there are people (like one of my friends) who would actually PREFER to take a lower-cost house for financial reasons. He may end up being stuck with an expensive house in West Village, which would totally suck balls because he wouldn't be able to afford it!
Flawed system, really flawed.
So there is a cure, and that cure is called Gainsborough.
Marshall and I have been apartment searching for a couple of days. The rent would cast almost exactly the same as it would for a semester of school, the only difference is that we would be paying monthly rent as opposed to semesterly rent. No big.
Interested in seeing?
Very very very nice. I like it a lot. We'll see how things go. If this one doesn't work out there are plenty of other places obviously.
But good times, nonetheless. Mom and Laurie let me know what you think. :)
Are you watching the Super Bowl today? Who are you watching it with, and which team do you want to win?
Since the super bowl is over, I'll just talk about what happened. I would have watched it if I didn't have a violent fever. But other than that, I didn't really care who won. Everybody up here wanted the Patriots to win, and I always liked them 2nd best as a kid, but Giants were always the number one. And then the Dolphins third. (Why Miami, I don't know. Don't ask. I think I just liked the colors of their uniforms.)
I slept for most of the day, and I am going to go to bed again very very soon.
Good night.
Thankfully you are fine, and no one was hurt. Scary, though. read more
on I thought this was the Red Line, not the "Let's all get killed" line.
